Za opened April 2025 at 25 Preble Street at Portland Public Market, taking over the former Slab Sicilian Street Food space. Maine natives Jessica and Brandon Tenney — founders of Truckin' Pizza, the wood-fired catering truck — retuned a hybrid New York/Neapolitan crust for Slab's gas-powered Bakers Pride decks, using four flours including Maine Grains spelt. The menu runs by-the-slice and whole pies (cup-and-char pepperoni, margherita, B-Sting with hot honey and soppressata, What the Dill with pickles and chips, pork belly–apple), plus pizza-dough sandwiches, salads, and a bar program from local distilleries and Wild Bevy in Wells. Tue–Sun, 11:30am–10pm.
