S.L. Wadsworth & Son is an independent specialty business based in Downeast Maine. Founded in 1818, the Eastport Water Street institution is the nation's oldest ship chandlery and Maine's oldest retail business—operated by six generations of the Wadsworth family. Two storefronts across from the Fisherman Statue combine an old-fashioned hardware store with a nautical gift shop carrying Eastport-logo merchandise, nautical reproductions, and unique themed items.
