North Deering Tavern opened May 6, 2025 in the former Parker's building at 1349 Washington Avenue in Allen's Corner. Brothers Sam and Rob Minervino — whose family has shaped Portland's neighborhood-pub scene since Sam's Harbor Lunch opened in 1980 — partnered with Marcus Bailey and Anthony Peters to launch the tavern after closing Samuel's Bar & Grill on Forest Avenue that spring. The menu runs pizza, burgers, wings, salads, fish and chips, chicken parm, and Reubens. Open daily 11:30am–1am with weekend brunch from 8am. Was Portland Food Map's most-read story of 2025.
