Bub's Home Kitchen

Bub's Home Kitchen opened in August 2025 on the second floor of Portland Public Market House at 28 Monument Square. Owner James Shaffer — who previously ran a cafe in Baltimore with his father before moving to Portland in 2019 — serves Sicilian-style pizza by the slice, soups, and salads alongside take-and-bake meals like baked rigatoni, mushroom Stroganoff, shepherd's pie, and pot roast made from family recipes (his father's pot roast, his wife's family's Stroganoff). The shop also stocks soups, broths, fruit spreads, and marinara. Bub's also vends at South Portland's Farmers' Market on Sundays and Fork Food Lab on Thursdays.
