European-style bakery and tea room on Route 1 in Falmouth since 1989 — macarons, princess torte, lobster tail pastries, custom cakes, and a small dining area.
European Bakery and Tea Room sits along Route 1 at 395 US-1 in Falmouth, opened in 1989 by Helen and Emil Budri and now owned by Cumberland couple Carla Manganello and Jeff Allen, who bought the business in July 2024. The bakery turns out a wide European-leaning case — black-and-white half-moon cookies, French macarons, croissants, pastries, strudels, eclairs, cannolis, lobster tail pastries, princess torte, Himbeer torte, and gourmet custom cakes including weddings and special occasions — alongside a small tea room with a half-dozen tables for sitting with a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Long-tenured staff include manager Elle Desrosiers, who started at the bakery as a high-school senior in 2012 and has been there ever since.
