Clayton's Cafe & Bakery has been a Yarmouth fixture since 1994, when it opened as a gourmet wine and cheese shop in the village and gradually grew into the full from-scratch cafe and bakery at 447 US-1. The daily lineup runs from jumbo muffins, scones, and cinnamon buns through bagels and breakfast sandwiches to a sandwich board built on house-baked sourdough — Smoked Korean BBQ chicken with kimchi slaw, Maryland-style crab cakes, the egg-in-a-hole bagel — alongside soups that have become locally famous, deli salads, take-home dinners, sweets from penny candy to fine chocolates, a small wine selection, and espresso drinks pulled with Coffee by Design beans. Open weekdays 7am–5pm, weekends until 3pm; thirty-plus years in, the place still runs on the same fresh-daily, generous-portion philosophy it opened with.
