Tuan Yuan Hotpot opened December 15, 2025 at 29 Forest Avenue in Portland, in the former Able Baker Contemporary gallery space on the first floor of the Portland Stage building. The 2,700-square-foot restaurant is the second venture from Qi Shen, owner of Sichuan Kitchen on Congress Street, who first introduced Portland to Sichuan cuisine in 2017. The name means "reunion dinner." The Sichuan-style hotpot menu offers a Mala-spicy vegetarian soup and a chicken with pumpkin soup, plus customizable add-ins like Miyazaki Wagyu, twin lobster tails, ton-toro pork cheek, winter melon, napa cabbage, and lotus root. Appetizers include wings and four-fold crispy pumpkin cakes. 79-seat dining room with a 9-seat bar, booth seating downstairs and a mezzanine with marble-topped tables. Mon–Fri 5–11pm, weekends from noon.
